APKG to CSV, TSV & Media — Inspect and Repackage Anki Decks
Open supported legacy and modern Anki packages locally, inspect every note field and media entry, export CSV/TSV and create a supported fresh APKG study copy.
Anki Deck & Media Bridge
Cards stay inactive here. Fresh APKG output resets study history; the original is retained.
Supported scope: 64 MiB input · 20,000 notes · 2,000 media · COLPKG read-only

Does it read modern APKG files?
Yes, supported package metadata version 3 selects the Zstandard-compressed collection.anki21b database, protobuf media map and compressed media entries. Legacy collection.anki2/.anki21 and JSON maps are supported separately. Unknown database schemas or package versions are refused.
Is card HTML or JavaScript executed in the browser?
No. Fields, CSS and templates are shown as literal text. Only bounded PNG/JPEG media is previewed locally. Raw exports and APKG retain the original content, which a destination Anki client may render.
Why can note count and card count differ?
A note type can generate multiple cards, including reversed templates and separate Cloze deletions. The bridge preserves notes as fields and records the existing card ordinals instead of assuming one note equals one card.
Is the new APKG a backup of my study progress?
No. It resets scheduling and review history and omits collection preferences, deck presets, filtered-deck state and some modern auxiliary settings. Test the package in a temporary profile and keep the original.
Why are CSV and TSV values sometimes different?
CSV adds an apostrophe before spreadsheet-formula-like strings. TSV and JSON keep the original field text. Both table formats include metadata columns, so choose field mappings deliberately when importing them.
Can it convert COLPKG or every custom note type?
COLPKG and historical collection.apkg are read/extract only. Fresh APKG output is limited to supported standard/Cloze models and known schema settings. Unsupported cases receive an explicit explanation; the tool never fabricates missing media or silently replaces custom card behavior.
